News
Would like to thank everyone that's taken the time to view my site.
Also I will be on vacation next week from 5/26/07 thru 6/4/07 down to the Grand Canyon. Hope to come back with some great
pictures. For those of you looking to order photos please allow additional time for your orders to be filled as I will not
be able to fill them until my return.
Week 9
Out looking for old barns today 3/25/07 and noted that a year later the Snow Covered Barn is no more. I didn't realize that it was in that bad of shape but it's on the ground now, along with the red corn crib.
Sad to see them go but they were not in use anymore so their was no one around to care for them.
Week 3
Big News for me! One of my favorite sites for information on old barns, just a great resource for items relating to barns, has been linked back to my site. I have also uploaded 3 (three) new barn
pictures and was able to get out one day and take photos of one barn I have wanted to for several months.
Week 1:
I uploaded my commercial site this week after I completed testing of all the links from my computer's hard drive. I was able to test all of them and had learned to upload the files to my web hosting
site with a non-commercial version of the site, and thought I was ready to upload all the pages. Then in checking all the links, what do you know?, one link doesn't work with the following message
page: "Not found on this server."
So I started trouble-shooting the problem. The link worked fine off my hard drive so I decided the file must be corrupt. Then I just uploaded the file and wrote over the existing file - but still no
luck. So I tried renaming the file and changed that one link to the file with the new name. No, this didn't fix the problem either, so I decided that since this file wasn't uploaded with the other
files the web server wasn't able to see it for some reason.
So I deleted the whole site and reloaded it - maybe then the web server would be able to read all the files. Wrong. In checking that the site was off the web server, I tried my site and got an error
that stated the "site was not located" and "verify that the Index.htm file was loaded" and that all the letters were lower case.
At this time the big news is that I finally have my site up and running.
Checking my link, I found that I had used an upper case letter for the start of the file News.htm. It looked right and had worked running the site off my computer hard drive. I corrected the file
name to news.htm and now the site works fine.
What I learned is one little letter as a Capital letter can lead to two days of trouble-shooting.
I will try to use this page to let my visitors know if anything new is on the site, and what's happening in my photography.
